Full-day SAGGAR Secret

Early morning after breakfast, boat (approx: 3hrs) south to explore the unspoiled culture and traditional lifestyle of the different ethnic groups. It’s called SAGGAR village, home to Pa-O and Intha people. Once a busy Shan Saw Bwa (heredity prince) town is today the special administrative region of Pa-O National Organization. The journey to SAGGAR is so scenic. Hazy blue mountains, floating farms and gardens, lotus on water, welcoming people and the interesting ruins of SAGGAR are hidden away from the tourist crowds.

There are 108 small pagodas believed to be built in 16th century. Some of them are partly under the water, at some time of the year. Get on a hill at Thaya Gone with a great view to the lake and villages around. You may have a look how the rice wine is made, a popular drink for Shan, Intha and Pa-O. On the way back to hotel, visit KYAUKTAING, a Shan village which lives on earthenware and pottery works.
